Crown bottle top test

The Vortex -d used as a Bottle Cap Tester

Mecmesin’s Vortex -d is a motorised torque tester which is ideal for bottle cap testing. The system enables applications and release torques to be measured under controlled conditions, offering greater accuracy and consistency and a significant reduction of error between different operators.

Basic test principle

  1. Bottle is loaded in to the fixture and secured
  2. The Mandrel is lowered into position (the adjustable transducer carriage should not be tightened)
  3. Test stand should be set to 20 rev/min
  4. Start the test allow the bottle to rotate so the cap is fully released
  5. The results are recorded on the AFTI
  6. Bottle sample removed
  7. Analysis of the test results
