Crown bottle top test
The Vortex -d used as a Bottle Cap Tester
Mecmesin’s Vortex -d is a motorised torque tester which is ideal for bottle cap testing. The system enables applications and release torques to be measured under controlled conditions, offering greater accuracy and consistency and a significant reduction of error between different operators.
Basic test principle
- Bottle is loaded in to the fixture and secured
- The Mandrel is lowered into position (the adjustable transducer carriage should not be tightened)
- Test stand should be set to 20 rev/min
- Start the test allow the bottle to rotate so the cap is fully released
- The results are recorded on the AFTI
- Bottle sample removed
- Analysis of the test results
